After a few complicated months, I'm back to work on my comicbook "Fathers of Marvel Comics". First volume will be 400 pages long, following Martin Goodman and Stan Lee between the years 1922 and 1941.

Hopefully people will be happy with the work and find it interesting.

Me, I'm enjoying telling the story of those two guys, born poor, who became rich thanks to their work ethic and smarts.
Here are some pages so you can have an idea of how it will look like...

After 6 years drawing only digitally, I plan on doing all the pages by hand, with some graywashes done with acrylics.

Also: Happy New Year 2019, obviously!

Happy Birthday Stan Lee (1922-2018)

Long time since I posted over here. Still working on "Fathers of Marvel Comics", my comicbook project about Martin Goodman & Stan Lee.
Last few months have been hard on a personal level. As Brian Bendis once said "Change is good, change is healthy", so here's to 2019, which could not be possibly as complicated as 2018.
I intend to travel a lot next year, pursuing my efforts to do an international tour after China in November and Senegal in December 2018.
Also, Stan Lee died. And today's... Well, it's his birthday.
So Happy Birthday Stan, we'll miss your enthusiasm.

A la recherche de Stan Lee, exposition à Saint-Quentin !

Depuis plus d'un an, je travaille sur un projet d'envergure: raconter la création et l'évolution de l'entreprise Marvel Comics, en suivant les vies de ses deux fondateurs: Martin Goodman et Stan Lee. Sortie du livre prévu en octobre 2019.

Pour la première fois, je montrerai des pages tests mais surtout le résultat de mes recherches intensives lors d'une exposition à la Médiathèque de Saint-Quentin, dans l'Aisne.
L'exposition sera uniquement centrée sur Stan Lee et sera évolutive (puisque je pressens qu'elle tournera un peu dans toute la France au fur et à mesure des années). Je suis actuellement beaucoup plus plongé dans la période 1922-1947, du coup, c'est surtout celle-ci que j'ai mis à l'honneur.

L'exposition sera visible gratuitement du 22 septembre au 6 octobre 2018, avec une après-midi spéciale le 22 septembre 2018 à partir de 14h30, avec vernissage, rencontre et dédicace avec moi-même.
